FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTION |
I have downloaded the
Script how do i install it? Safe Script is transported in a
compressed form. There are two programs one come in self extracting
.exe files that also install the program for you. The second you first
have to unzip the file to be able to run the program in it. A good
unzipper is winzip
Once unzipped, installing Safe Script (like any program) is mainly a
matter of running its setup program or simply placing the files in a
separate directory and running the program. After installation, you
may have to specify some personal information before you can connect
to an IRC server. For detailed instructions read the help files
included in the programs (typically a .hlp file or readme.txt). Some
IRC clients, like mIRC, have their own FAQ that provides detailed
help. Reading such FAQ's is highly recommended. Things you
should do
Open the Windows File Manager or Explorer with which you can see
what files are found on your PC's hardisk. You can find its icon in
the Main group in Windows or under the 'Start' button, under
'Programs'.
Locate the SafeScript cabinet which you just downloaded and saved
to your harddisk. It is either named safe.exe or safe.zip or
safescript.exe or safescript.zip.
To start the installation process just double click on the
cabinet. The installation program will be started automatically
Determine the place on your harddisk where you want SafeScript to
be installed. Normally the proposed C:\SafeScript will do fine.
Select 'OK' and you're done! The installer will take care of all
the work. What network should I connect?
If you are using Safe Script we recommend you to connect to /server irc.dal.net because Safe Script is
primarily made for only DALnet. Safe Script may not work on other
IRC network. What Port number should I use to
connect to IRC.DAL.net? Generally DALnet uses port number
7000 /server server:port (example: /server
irc.dal.net:7000) Where can i get help on
DALnet?
#SafeScript The channel #SafeScript is the Official
channel for SafeScript you can type /join #SafeScript to join the
channel, after which you can query any Ops (operator) the person with
a @ sign (symbol) in front of his/her nick with your doubt.
If you want help relating to DALnet , DALnet has a large number of
help channels that deal with a variety of different topics, not all of
them necessarily IRC related. Therefore, the first step to finding
help is to determine the nature of your problem. For IRC related
problems, it's important to know if it's a DALnet related question or
not. They do not help with problems on other networks (getting banned,
identd problems, server downtime, etc.). For DALnet related questions
it's a good idea to visit #DALnetHelp, #IRCHelp or
#Help. If you need help in another language, you can visit the
following: #DALnetAide (French), #DALnetHilfe (German),
#DALnetAyuda (Portuguese and Spanish), #HindiHelp (Hindi),#ItaliaHelp (Italy), #IsraHelp (Hebrew) For more information
go to http://www.dal.net/
 Virus
Problem
If you are infected with virus go to #Nohack channel on
DALnet and get it removed or you can go to http://housecall.antivirus.com/ for free on-line
virus scan or get a good cleaner or antivirus like mcafee to deal with
the problem.
